The Best Exercise for Weight Loss

Best Exercise for Weight Loss

Let’s face it; there is no magic weight loss pill. Nor is there an all in one at home fitness gym that will erase pounds from your body just by collecting dust in your basement. Much to everyone’s dismay, good old fashioned exercise and diet are only effective options we have. So which exercise is considered the best for losing weight? Well, most doctors would say the best one is: “the exercise you’ll do.” You need to find the right exercise for you, that you actually want to do. With that said, I am going to quickly cover a few of what are considered the best without spending all your free time at the gym.

Step Aerobics & Kettle bells

Frequently listed top exercises to slim down incorporate aerobics. Step Aerobics mainly work to slim the legs, hips and butt but the calories burn throughout can help with over all weight loss. I would recommend doing steps for an hour a day, in two thirty minute sessions, two to three days a week. The Step itself will only cost you around twenty dollars and can easily found in most stores that carry exercise equipment. Certain ones come with raisers, but you can find simple ways people have made their own raisers on the internet.

For a full-body burn, try a kettle bell workout. A kettle bell is a cast-iron ball with a handle and is great for cardio, strength, and flexibility. A common kettle bell workout targets the butt, legs, hips, lower back, shoulders, forearms, abs, triceps, biceps, core, quads, and the hamstrings! One of the best aspects of a kettle bell workout is that you can choose which exercises you favor most and can constantly change and mix your routine. A typical kettle bell workout is around ten minutes a day, four days a week. Kettle bells are available in 5 lb. increments from 5lb. to 75 lbs. and can also be found in adjustable forms at a higher price.  There are plenty of videos on youtube you can follow along to. Make sure to take time to learn the techniques before getting started.

You have been riding bikes since you were a child and chances are you have one in your garage now. It’s easy to do and is great at burning those annoying calories; from 500 to 1000 calories an hour depending on your riding speed. Cycling has low impact on the knees and takes the weight off the body.

So for the many people who cannot run or play certain sports due to the pressure that is put on their joints, cycling is a blessing. To top it off, cycling has many health benefits: cycling builds and increases strength, muscle tone, and stamina. Cycling can also reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by up to 50% and reduces stress.

So which is best?

Like your doctor will tell you, the exercise you will actually do is the best for slimming down. If you’re serious about losing weight, experiment with some of these exercises. Find what works for you and stick with it! Make sure to be creative with your work out. Your body will adjust to your workout if you do the same routine week after week, and you will prevent any progress being made. So mix it up, research the various workouts for your chosen exercises and keep your workouts interesting. You will have a blast while burning those unwanted lbs.!
